Terms & Conditions – North East (Darjeeling & Sikkim)

Hotel Selection Responsibility: We offer a variety of accommodation options to cater to diverse preferences. Guests are encouraged to participate in the hotel selection process considering factors such as budget, location, facilities, and hotel standards. Tools such as hotel websites and TripAdvisor ratings may be used for reference.
KrishTrip does not insist on or endorse any particular hotel choice. If the selected hotel does not meet the guest’s expectations, KrishTrip shall not be held responsible as the final selection is made at the discretion of the guest.

Extra Bed Policy: Extra beds may be provided either as a rollaway/cot bed or as an additional mattress placed on the floor depending on hotel standards and availability.
The type of extra bed is entirely hotel-dependent and cannot be changed on the spot as per traveler’s preference. Any specific requirement must be communicated prior to booking and will be subject to availability.

Occupancy Policy: Each room allows a maximum of three adults. The third occupant will be accommodated on an extra mattress or rollaway bed as per the hotel policy.
Accommodation of a fourth person, if permitted by the hotel, will depend on room size and hotel rules. In such cases, an additional extra bed may not be provided.

Check-in / Check-out Policy: Standard hotel check-in time is 2:00 PM and check-out time is 11:00 AM. Early check-in or late check-out is strictly subject to hotel availability and discretion.

AC Usage: In hilly regions such as Darjeeling and Sikkim, air-conditioning may not operate due to low temperatures or uphill driving conditions. Usage of AC during steep hill drives will be at the driver’s discretion.

Transportation Policy: Transportation will be provided strictly as per the itinerary and will not be at the disposal of the guests.
Due to local transport union regulations in Darjeeling and Sikkim, separate vehicles are required for different regions.
Therefore, vehicles used in Darjeeling will not operate in Sikkim (Gangtok, Pelling, Lachung, Lachen) and vice versa. Vehicle changes may be required at designated points as per local transport rules.

Nathula Pass Policy: If Nathula Pass is mentioned as Optional in the itinerary, the cost of vehicle and permit for Nathula Pass is not included in the package price.
On the day Nathula Pass is visited, the sightseeing mentioned for that day will be done using the same Nathula-approved vehicle.
The additional vehicle charges and permit fees for Nathula Pass will be payable directly by the guest as per the prevailing government rates.
Nathula Pass permit approval is subject to government regulations, weather conditions, and permit availability.

Permit Policy: Certain destinations in Sikkim require mandatory government permits.
If any permit charges are not specifically mentioned in the package inclusions, it means those permit fees have not been included in the package cost and will be payable separately by the guest.
Permit approvals are subject to government regulations and availability.

Hotel Facilities in Hill Regions: Due to the naturally cool climate in hill destinations like Darjeeling, Gangtok, Pelling, Lachung, and Lachen, many hotels may not provide air-conditioning.
Room heaters may be available on request and may be chargeable as per hotel policy.
Hotels in remote areas such as Lachen and Lachung are generally basic in nature due to geographical limitations, and luxury standards should not be expected in these regions.

Refunds for Non-operational Activities: If any paid activity becomes non-operational due to weather conditions or government restrictions, refunds (if applicable) will be processed within 30 days after supplier confirmation.
Complimentary services or activities are non-refundable and non-adjustable.

Special Dinners & Festive Charges: Mandatory gala dinners or festive surcharges during Christmas, New Year, or other special occasions are not included in the package price unless specifically mentioned.

Itinerary Modifications: KrishTrip reserves the right to modify the itinerary due to weather conditions, landslides, road closures, government restrictions, or other Force Majeure events.
Any additional expenses arising due to such situations shall be borne by the guest.

Cancellation Due to Natural Calamity: In case of cancellations due to natural calamities, landslides, road blockages, political disturbances, or government restrictions, refunds (if applicable) will depend on recoveries from hotels and suppliers.

Important Notes – North East: All guests must carry valid original Government ID proof during travel.
Travel in the North East involves hilly terrain and unpredictable weather conditions. Delays due to landslides, road conditions, traffic congestion, or local restrictions are beyond the control of KrishTrip.
Guests are requested to maintain punctuality to avoid missing scheduled sightseeing or transportation services.
Sightseeing in Lachen and Lachung depends heavily on weather and road conditions, and certain points may remain closed due to local authority restrictions.
